Android Auto Setup
Prepare the phone
⦁ For wired: An Android phone running Android 8.0 or higher, with an active data plan.
⦁ For Wireless, An Android phone running Android 11.0 or higher, with an active data plan.
⦁ A high-quality USB C Male to USB C Male cable
⦁ An Android phone with BT and Wi-Fi Features
Connecting an Android device via USB C cable
⦁ Turn on the head unit.⦁ Connect a USB C-USB C between Ix210 Chassis USB C Port and Android Phone
⦁ Download the Android Auto app or update to the latest version of the app, if prompted.
Connecting an Android device via wireless
⦁ Turn on the head unit.
⦁ Download the Android Auto app or update to the latest version of the app, if prompted.
⦁ Enable Bluetooth on your device and make sure it's in pairing mode.
⦁ Press the Phone button.
⦁ Press Settings.
⦁ Press Device List
⦁ Press +Add a Device
⦁ Press the line item that shows the name of the device you want to connect.
⦁ Press “Confirm” on the Pairing Confirmation and connect.
*NOTE* There will be a brief pause between you device connecting to bluetooth and the following prompt.
⦁ Press Android Auto when the head unit asks how you would like to use the connected device.
⦁ After a brief wait, the head unit will launch Android Auto. Congratulations! You're ready to enjoy your audiotainment experience.
Initial Set Up
There may be some initial set up on the phone, need to complete if prompted.
⦁ See the prompts on the phone to learn safety information, accept the privacy policy, and grant the permissions required by Android Auto.
⦁ Once user has completed the setup process, Android Auto will be launched automatically on the head unit.
Start using Android Auto
Tap the android auto on the head unit main menu to launch the android auto.
Navigating the app launcher
A quick walkthrough of the app launcher can be shown by highlighting the Home button, Microphone icon, status bar, and the grid view of apps.
Navigation
Press “Maps” on the android auto menu to enter Google Maps.
Input the destination and start to navigation guidance.
Google Assistant
It is recommended that “Hey Google” detection is turned on in the smartphone. Google Assistant can be triggered by saying “Hey Google”, pressing the Voice button on the panel, or by tapping on Microphone icon in the navigation bar.
Messaging and calls
Messaging and call functionality through apps enables users to stay connected without being distracted.
Media and entertainment
You can get your favorite music and podcast apps onto your car’s display.
Troubleshooting information
⦁ Android Auto can’t connect to head unit. Please check the following information. Make sure your head unit is IX210 or IX210E make by Stinger/AAMP.
⦁ Try to disconnect and connect to the head unit with USB-C cable.
⦁ Try to reboot the head unit.
⦁ Try to exchange with another USB C cable.
⦁ Try to disconnect and connect Bluetooth again.
⦁ Try to turn off and then turn on the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on android device
