What is a DSP?
A DSP in car audio means Digital Signal Processor. Adding a DSP to your car audio system greatly enhances your sound quality with advanced tuning capabilities. AudioControl’s industry leading experience in signal processing combined with specially designed 24-bit DSP’s (digital signal processors) offers music enthusiasts the ultimate audio experience. Features like precise equalization, adjustable crossovers, signal delay, signal summing/distribution and AccuBASS® make AudioControl’s Digital Mobile Audio Processors top-of-the-line performers.
What is an Equalizer?
Maximize overall system performance! AudioControl equalizers offer precise control to compensate for factors that interfere with sound quality. Adjust your system’s response for your car’s acoustics and your personal musical preferences. The Programmable Frequency Match (PFM) filter protects woofers and maximizes bass. And AudioControl equalizers raise signal voltages for the highest possible performance. You can even use your factory head unit.
What does The Epicenter do?
The Epicenter restores the bass that is often lost in compressed audio files (mp3s). The Epicenter®, originally patented by AudioControl, looks at the upper harmonics and uses them to digitally recreate low frequency fundamentals (original frequency) that have been lost through compression (MP3s), rolled-off, or simply removed (during mastering).
What is AccuBASS?
AudioControl's AccuBASS circuit is designed to recover the bass that goes missing when the volume is increased in some factory sound systems. Unlike The Epicenter, AccuBASS is more like an EQ, which boosts from around 50 Hz to 125 Hz; AccuBASS will not add content which is not already present in the signal.
What is a Line Driver?
The high headroom power supply of our line drivers raises any pre-amp signal up to 24 dB. This provides better dynamic range and a quiet, noise-free signal. Give your system the boost that it needs. Perfect for driving those long cable runs from the front to the back of the vehicle. Check out the Matrix Plus Line Driver.
What is an In-Dash Processor?
AudioControl’s in-dash processors are true audiophile quality products in compact, all-in-one packages. These units can help you build a quality system using an after-market head unit, tablet or any other source with analog outputs, compensate for the acoustics of the vehicle, and recapture the excitement and vibrancy of concerts.
